The
animation studio is strong mainly - but not exclusively - in
3D CGI. The workflow - from script analysis to rendering - is controlled by proprietary software. Technology aside,
acting is the key: expression of actions and intentions by animation.
A bunch of
animators and
designers that gained experience by working here also learned some typical
jargon of the studio that is used to explain a scene or for the dreadful
retakes. Here is a few - for animator only!
Seagulls: warning, wrong looking direction of a character, you can't tell what he is looking at, i.e.: is he looking some seagulls?
Flam: slighly
de-synchronize a multiple action (such beating fists on a table). From
the FLAM of the drumming technique (drummers know what we are talkin'
about).
Wheels: not good enough, mistaken, failed, start again.
